NSU Baseball Team Visits Cancer Center in Conjunction with Colonels Bat Against Breast Cancer Benefit

NSU Baseball - Bat Against Breast Cancer

Thibodaux, Louisiana (May 23, 2011) – The Cancer Center of Thibodaux Regional recently hosted a visit by the Nicholls State University Colonel Baseball Team in conjunction with the Colonels Bat Against Breast Cancer game to benefit the Bayou Region Affiliate, Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Wearing special pink jerseys sponsored by Thibodaux Regional, the team visited with patients and staff and signed autographs and served muffins and juice.  The team wore the jerseys during their game against McNeese State. The jerseys were then auctioned to the highest bidder with all proceeds benefiting the Komen Bayou Region Affiliate. More than $7,000 was raised to fund education, screening and treatment grants in the Bayou Region.

“We appreciate the opportunity to partner with the Nicholls Baseball team, coaches, and other representatives,” said Greg Stock, CEO of Thibodaux Regional, and Board Chairman, of the Komen Bayou Region Affiliate. “We look forward to a similar event again next year.”
